The Northern Rhodesia Police Association gathered to celebrate 50 years of comradeship arising out of our membership of the Northern Rhodesia Police. When independence was granted in 1964 few would have imagined that an old comrades association would still be going strong 50 years later. That is the remarkable truth and it says much for the hight morale and comradeship generated by the membership of the Northern Rhodesia Police. The membership at this time stood at 345 of whom two thirds were in the United Kingdom with significant numbers in Australia and South Africa and the remaining overseas members being distributed amongst 16 other countries.
